World Vitiligo Day

It's a day that many organisations are working hard to raise the awareness of. It aims to spread the word about vitiligo, gaining awareness of the disorder and increasing support for those with it – something that is lacked in all countries.

Eye colour linked to vitiligo

New research has revealed eye colour could be linked to vitiligo.

Spread Awareness

Facebook has over 845 million monthly active users. The number of people with vitiligo worldwide is just 50 million. If we can connect with just 1% of these people, we'd be reaching thousands - and raising the awareness of vitiligo globally.

Phototherapy: treatment #14

OK so I'm on my 14th visit now and as far as treatments going - it's making me feel great - although so far I can't see any change and where some areas of me are going brown, it's really highlighting my vit areas - and is even 'revealing' areas of vitiligo I didn't know I had.

I have a lot more on my legs than I thought I had, it's a little bit upsetting (maybe an understatement) but at the same time at least I know. I still have high hopes - even though I'm still feeling down about it all.

Phototherapy: treatment #12

I've been feeling a bit deflated about phototherapy recently so have been doing some work on twitter - since I've sorted out my profile I've had 9 or 10 followers - so it's nice to know what I'm doing is helping/benefiting people.

I'm over the moon I'm having this treatment but I can't help but worry about giving my hopes up - the success rate is the same as protopic (40%) and "not very high" as my derm told me. We'll see though. I have to stick at it otherwise I'll only regret it!

I actually think my skins responding well - it's going pink after the treatment but not burning - so I guess we just need to wait and see what happens in a few weeks...
